Sobering sense of awareness leads me to realize, this cannot be undone
Emaciated hallucinations, the truth erodes with the sand
I once again feel pain. Taste the blood on my lips, I know I am about to depart
Devastated and thinking of what ifs?
I start to feel warmth from the cold
Vision clouded but my terror erodes
I feel the comfort I so desperately sought; I’m awoke and unaware
The flesh totem consumes me as I nourish its phloem
The terrifying realization that my consciousness is being devoured by the fallen god of rot
Malodorous beast begins to feast on all my strength and mortality
Agonizingly it harvests my consciousness

Final moments of existence feel like an eternity of torture
All pleasant memories extracted to feed the need of the beast
which feasts on my extracted innards decorated on its limbs
Shredded and ingested a mindless thrall
still living the god of rot sustains me to continue to feed
Upon my lifeless body

My hiraeth of unknown comfort returns along with desperation
To live my life, cut short by the knife
Enthralled by the god of rot

Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis.
